Re-instated COVID-19 testing requirements for all International Arrivals, excluding the U.S.

Summary: All guests regardless of vaccination status or nationality are required to get tested and quarantine

The Authority is supporting the Public Health Agency of Canada’s (PHAC) announcement as the health and safety of our guests and staff is our top priority. We’re preparing our operation to meet the increase in COVID-19 testing upon international arrival.

  • Regardless of vaccination status or nationality, guests arriving from an international destination (apart from the U.S.) are required to get a COVID-19 test upon arrival and quarantine until they receive their negative arrivals test result.
  • Unvaccinated guests will continue to be tested upon arrival and day eight and quarantine for 14 days. However, they will be required to self-isolate in a designated quarantine facility while they await their arrivals test result.
  • These measures are in addition to current travel restrictions and random testing for partially or unvaccinated guests at international arrivals.
  • Global travel restrictions from areas in southern Africa now include Nigeria, Malawi, and Egypt.
  • YYC does not have any direct flights from that area. However, connectors who have visited parts of southern Africa and arriving in Calgary will be required to get a COVID-19 test upon arrival and quarantine.

In addition to PHAC’s announcement, The Authority supports the U.S. Department of State’s border announcement of requiring a negative PCR test one calendar day prior to departure to the U.S. This is a change from its current 72-hour test requirement.

    Effective Dec. 6:

  • Regardless of vaccination status or nationality, all guests aged two and older are required to provide proof of negative viral test taken within one day of the departure to the U.S.
  • Guests must be ready to show their negative test result to the airline before check-in and/or boarding.
